No grout, no shortcuts
The clay pieces weren't perfect, but the owners wanted them tight with no grout. We mitered the corners and kept everything centered and symmetrical.
Laid out on the garage floor
We drew the surround on paper on the garage floor, laid out every piece, and had the owners move colors around until they loved it. Each piece had its place, then got shaved and buffed to fit.
